Yeah that's a very good price and will be a good setup. The Samsung home theatre systems get good write ups.

Also, stop being a cock.

This is the home cinema system I actually wanted, because it goes with the style and aesthetics of the series 6 TV I ordered (It's rosewood colour, like the TV).
Alas, this is more than double the price of the system I actually ordered :(

By the way, Dixons seem to be the place to buy this sort of gear at the moment due to their surprisingly low online prices and coupled with some other methods I've found for getting free delivery on TVs, and some cash back etc (I think I'm due back a further £26 from Dixons soon).

LOL, actually make that £41.50 due back from Dixons, thus the TV and Cinema system will end up costing me about £850 all in - which is less than the price of the TV on it's own in some shops.

LCD is best for gaming, Plasma is the rox for SD.

Plasmas tend to get mad hot from what I've seen, simply because of the technology.

LCD is probably better overall though IMO. Plasmas don't tend to last as long, has a potential for screenburn(altho most have anti-screenburn these days), and tend to be slightly pricer.

I'm sure zim or someone will be able to give you a more in depth description, but for your average joe like me, LCD does the job, since I'm pretty blind, I don't notice much difference between the two.

I can confirm that big plasma screens are mad hot.
We have a 50" plasma in our office and up until this week, we had to keep a fan blowing on it all the time, to dissipate the heat.
No lie, though admittedly we had ventilation issues in the office anyway.

As for life, well I doubt anyone will be keeping the same TV beyond the 10 years or so that Plasmas are allegedly good for.

Nah I know next to nothing about projectors. They are a bit more hassle to fit because obviously they need to be mounted high or on a ceiling, and then you have to somehow wire all your sources to it which isn't always convenient if your projector is on the ceiling.

About 10 minutes research tells me that it doesn't seem like a great idea for a normal-use TV because of the issue with ambient lighting which really screws up the view of it. I guess I'll stick with some ridiculous-size LCD instead.
