I've been poking around this web based game for a few days now and it looks pretty decent, at least I've had a browser open to it pretty much since I found it monitoring my future galactic empire's progress.

There's a large goon presence and I'm in their space guild at the minute, but if a couple of people get into it would be easy enough to jump ship it's not like a goon guild will miss one member.

It's all real world time based and economy is power, I'm in galaxy B26 pretty much right in the middle, there's still lots of free planets around too.
The tutorial is very simple and easy to understand and it's not half as complicated as other web-based shite, regardless for the first 7 days you have trammel anti-pvp shields like Gungans in that shitty spaceship film about that kid who flew a skooter or something, so you're totally safe initially anyway.
There's a lot of big guilds, but generally they all stick to warring each other and political bullshit in forums. Oh and of course roleplaying that they're actual space cadets or on the crew of star trek or something.

Unlike other webgames it also never gets reset, simply relying on people blowing each other up instead.

Is it the kind of game I could play for just a few minutes at a time? If so I'm in.

Does it work with accumulated turns and turn costs for actions?

Are there pay-to-play features?

Are there lots of areas to focus on, expansion, research, civilisation, warfare & more?

Pretty much
There are premium accounts, but having one isn't essential it removes ads and lets you build advanced base structres to a higher level.. but building them to that high level costs a shit load of cash anyway.

Yu can basically log in for 5 mins every day or every 4-5 hours and update your production ques etc
Moving fleets takes hours or days, so you pretty much set wheels in motion then come back later

That how long stuff takes to build, and I'm only 3 days in, you can que up to 5 I think.

also 10 points for anyone who can tell me where I got my planet names, and a further 100 for anyone who can guess the next.

yeah ca1ix and I were talking about that the other day, i had about 4 accounts on that thing lol. was so funny talking about it - "I'll buy 200kg's of Coke and 400 of Weed"

Was great fun raiding people, theiving/looting whatever the class was, was cool.. till we saw that the best farms/features etc were premiums, priced individually

Such a cheat Villa, next was Wunderland.
Ace series of books if you ever come across any.

Best advice for starting out is to start with a stack of metal refineries, your goal is to build 8 spaceports and 8 research labs, and research your way through the chain up to warp drive 1 which will allow you to build your first outpost ship and make another base.
Read the little tutorial page they have set up it pretty much covers the basics well.

Being in same galaxy is ace, you can move between galaxies np, but it means we can get to each other much faster, I'll do a screenie of my map in a bit showing where my bases are located and once you have some spaceports throw you a couple of trade routes.

yeha I think I'm getting the hang of the basics, it's got quite a simple but interesting research/construction etc system. I've got a few things queued up now but I will check it when over my gf's later (best loving bf) to keep it going.

Yeah a trade route basically makes money for the creator and the reciever, one base can only create 1 trade route but can recieve several.
The longer the distance the more expensive to setup, but the better returns each hour.

It's one of the reasons you want to rush to building extra bases, stuffs costs increases expenentionally, so to build a level 1 spaceport costs 5 credits, but to build a level 10 one costs more like 250.
So the more bases you have the cheaper you can spread out your economic income.

I'm still pretty much a newbie, but I like the way they've done it in this one, I'm not really a fan of webgames usually.
