Powergen: At my last address, mysteriously started charging me for my own bills AND those of the girl who lived in the flat above, took over a year and the involvement of the regulator to sort out.
BT: When I moved to current address, their engineers missed 3 appointments, then turned up on an annanounced day, leaving me a note threatening to fine me becouse I wasn't in @ agreed day, then continued charging me for a cancelled service for 3 months.
NTL: (Who I was forced to move to becouse BT were fucking useless). No problems until about 6 months ago.
1. I recieve a phonecall from them offering me the basic cable TV package for £2 a month extra. I personally don't give a shit about TV, but the girlfriend would like it so I agree..
First bill arrives, charging me £10 a month extra. Ring them and they deny ever offering the service for £2 a month. Took 2 months to get sorted.
2. Last week noticed my connection was running at around 4meg speed, presumed i'd finally got the free upgrade I was promised about 6 months ago... Today my bill arrives and i'm being charged for 4meg broadband instead of 2, at around £10 a month extra. I've made absolutely no contact with NTL since the cable tv fiasco. wtf?
Anglian Water: Charged me for two consecutive months after I moved for two bills, the one at me new/current address, and for the one at my old flat. Took about 40 phonecalls to India to resolve.

Actually I'm just unlucky with deliveries and the resulting dealings with customer service departments. I ordered a new mp3 player and HDD from a company through work (cheaper and should be quicker). This company we've been ordering stuff from for ages without a single problem.
My 'next day delivery' takes three days, and when i arrives only the mp3 player is in the package (even though the packing note claims the HDD is there too).
The response from the Account manager there?
Edit: also BT do indeed suck. Everyone I know who works for them (at all sorts of levels between call centre and regional manager) says the same thing ;(

I have heard nothing but bad stuff about NTHell. And bt are well bt, after having shit with them as my ISP 8 years ago I haven't gone near them since, I do believe they gave my parents some shit and overcharged them for our second phone line we got installed when I whored the internet too much.Calix wrote:At least regarding NTL, BT and powergen i'm not alone, it's not exactly isolated cases..
The only problem I've ever had with bills and such so far, is Liberty Surf (maybe 6 years ago now). They were one of the first ISPs to offer unlimited access for a set price (£29.99 a year I think). Well I got banned for using it too much, and didn't get my £29.99 back.
Don't know shit about powergen, but I vaguely remember them ripping off tons of customers on watchdog or something similar

This is a bit off topic but as we've got onto the subject of ISPs...
My connection in England has been unuseable ever since they switch me onto ADSL Max 6 weeks ago. It took me 2 weeks to get them to even acknowledge there was a problem and in the 4 weeks since they've done sod all to fix it. Finally got some action before going away last week where a BT guy (the 4th who had come so far) said he had actually found a fault on the line down the road. The 3 before him were lazy fat sods who wanted to sit down in the house and play with their laptops rather than try and find the fault.
So this 4th guy arranged LUX to come out and set up traffic lights so he could work safely on the line, and switched my ADSL onto a redundant line. This didn't seem to work either...
When I say unuseable I get disconnections literally every six minutes, and my connection speed never gets higher than 512k down but has been as low as 200 down. Remember this is ADSL Max which promises to be upto 8 times faster than your existing connection, my existing connection being a perfectly stable 1meg conn.
It's a real pain in the ass for an Internet Warrior like me. This week im in Austria and thank god I have a stable connection here.
Moral of the story, don't get ADSL Max from Zen Internet, they suck and the support sucks. Move to Sweden instead.
