Well, History is all about further reading. So I only have 1 lecture and one seminar for each module. I have to do 30 hours a week further reading ontop of those if I want to get a first. We are taught basically nothing, just get an outline of the topic. I love it for the first year as it counts for nothing so I am doing the bare minimum further reading and getting 2:1/2:2's which I can live with for my first year! It just sounds good saying I only have it for 5 hours

I know that, and I don't really care tbh... My Uni isn't the worst for History and I am not really doing the degree for job options. I am just doing it because I enjoy it and don't really feel like full time work presently. If I wanted a good degree I would have re taken year 13 and actually worked hard to get into a good Uni. Even then I wouldn't have particularly wanted to go to a distant Uni as I am not suited to Uni life!

I still can't decide between Leeds and Liverpool. Going by what you say here it sounds like Leeds is a better idea because it's a better uni.Mercury wrote:employers at top jobs look at where ur degree is from etcetc and how those departments are ranked etc. my parents shop in leeds is staffed by 7 outa 11 people having degrees, and there all on minimum wage. because they all have poor degree from poor universitys!
I think I need the hand of god to point me in the right direction.

if it was me, leeds and liverpool offer literally the same things socially (i dont know exactly about living etc) but in terms of its a big city you will always have places to go and things to do if u so wish, from that my decision would be based on the uni/department/course
they are both as far from u in bath as each other (roughly) and to me seem to offer almost identical things, so to me it would come down to which would get u a better degree
for me loughborough was a tough choice (after cardiff) because it meant risking not having such a good social life, but it was supplemented by the fact that the department here is excellent and notts/leicester/derby/birmingham are all viable nitetime options
