Uhm well, academic would be the obvious choice. It is however totally personal.

Firstly find out about there backrounds for history, if they are much and such the same or both passable then IMHO nightlife is defo next priorty. Good nightlife, usual means good chicks.

You support 'pool so straight away it works in your favour. The way the english describe liverpool makes it sound like a scabby Glasgow though.

My best mate is originally from the Midlands area and he's moving back to Leeds this summer, he says its got a pretty good nightlife so I'd check that out.

When I was choosing a Uni, my first thought went to Abertay in Dundee. At the time it was one of the superior Uni's around in terms of course choice in the particular field I wanted to study in. However when I went to Dundee, found out about the campus and did the whole tour, what a fucking dump Dundee is. The actual Uni was on the up, lots of new upgrades and financial backing but no, the location and everything about it put me off.

Then I had 3 choices left, RGU, Aberdeen or Glasgow. I wasn't too keen on moving to Glasgow, I've never lived in such a huge city so I thought I'd find it a bit harder to adapt too. I didn't even bother checking the uni out which left me with two choices. RGU has a pretty good record of students getting into employment which worked in its favour. There was more course selection, and it looked like a Uni on the up particularly since there was a whole new campus and suchlike being built. Both Uni's are quite central and accomodation is both close to uni and the center of town which made it better than any other choice in Scotland right away.

In the end I choose RGU. I am however unhappy with my course entirely and pretty much have been since the start, but its probably not all down to the Uni. I am however still delighted with the choice I made because the student life here is fucking awsome.

So before you make your choice, check them both out. You won't regret it. I've had friends chosing Uni's without checking it out and since moved or dropped out.

All in all, I'm not overly fussed about the quality of Degree, I've enjoyed myself and been relatively stress free so I can't complain.

Go to Exeter as it's local and you can date rape dopey surfer chicks without expensive drugs.

no way, I must be as far away from south west as possible.
Nix I am checking out both unis, I went to Leeds yesterday and am slightly prefering that atm but I will check out Liverpool next week. I support Liverpool and always wanted to live in the city, but I should have plenty of time for that in later life, maybe I shouldn't think along those lines at the moment. I can always catch a train down from Leeds to see a game anyhow.

leeds has a good nitelife :)

most important thing for me is/was accomadtion, my halls of residence on a campus based uni has made going to loughborough best desicion i ever made, i have hundreds of mates from my hall, whereas my sister at leeds has her 5 flat mates...

theres a great uni spirit here, and it makes socialising great. personally id look very carefully at where u go, its a huge desicion, bigger than u can imagine, almost as crunch as wether ur enjoy uni or quit within a year :)

What did you study, benn? and how long ago are we talking about?

merc I think I should be able to get a place on campus, apparantly you get most head there. I have an advantage because I already have unconditional offers but everyone else has to wait for their results.

Not for me, i'm loving it that way. Met so many new people since I started Uni, but none of them are from Uni. Second semester I have started to try and get to know the people on my course a bit more, as I am stuck with them for three years (only decided to do so as there is a sexy as fuck girl who has joined my course). The people on my course are friendly enough but as I am living at home I don't have to put effort into getting to know them. It's ace :D. Just started making friends with my best mates new girlfriends friends. Got me out of the house so much and I am really enjoying myself.
