Agree with your points though, when someone says how much they give to charity it's best just to remain quiet. Can't see how it allows someone to more freely express themselves.
whether long range weapon or suicide bomber wicked mind is a weapon of mass destruction
What you probably fail to realize is that the vast majority of the people who were affected most and/or killed in this disaster were poor, and might as well have been in 'poor countries' because, though they are in the world's richest nation, they also have no access to any kind of remedies.Villa wrote:Summarise please ?
I can't be arsed to read about disasters in the world's richest nation when there are countless thousands dieing in poor countries with no access to any kind of remedies.
For being the world's richest nation, one would think that when the local government orders an evactuation, the government, both local and federal, would be able to coordinate some sort of evacuation effort for the people who have no transportation of their own, save their own two legs.
One young man, who was poor and black, stole a school bus and started driving people from poor neighborhoods to the superdome, which was used to house survivors and displaced residents. This young man made a number of trips and undoubtedly saved many lives. His reward for such valiant efforts: to be arrested and charged with grand theft auto.
Also, at least two US Navy helicopter pilots were given missions to fly parts, food, and other supplies to military bases in the Mississippi/New Orleans area and return to base. They dropped off the supplies and food as directed, and instead of returning to base as orderd, they decided to help rescue people from homes in flooded areas. They saved a fair number of people and brought them to safety... Once they returned to base, they were reprimanded and are facing possible a court martial.
The US government broke down at many levels, and the people of the nation who stepped up to fill in the gaps are being punished. If you want to save your compassion and sympathy for some person who doesn't live in the world's richest nation, fine. But keep in mind that the richest nation in the world is turning its back on its own citizens and people.

It's two reporters basically calling it as they see it, despite the anchormans attempt to bring it all back into line. Like I say, well worth 8 mins to watch, if only to see some of the contraversial claims aired on one of the most conservative news sites.
