Find me a PC

Post by Villa »

Budget = £1k
Monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, headset - all not required.

Something like this -
http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/PCse ... l?PC-0791T
Needs XP Pro as operating system.

Can anyone find me a system thats better than the one above, for about £1k ?

i just ordered this, its slightly over your budget, but chose a lower cpu and GPU and you have a sweet system

For years, I've shunned AMD processors.
So much so, that I now have no idea how they compare with Intel CPUs.

It's time for me to replace my 3 year old PC, and I wanted something that is pretty high spec, but without going over £1k if possible.
Ideally, needs to have a fast CPU, very good gfx card, minimum 1gb RAM and a large HDD.
Not bothered about RAID, so a single drive is fine.

AMD have and always will be the superior processor.

For a grand you can pretty much get yourself a high quality machine built to your own specifications, support local businesses and go consult one of the local computer small shops, you'll get a much better machine than a pre-packed thing from the likes of PC world or Dixons etc.

Aye I agree with buying the parts seperate (i.e building it to suit your needs)
When i get my next PC I will be doing it that way, my current PC i got roughly 2 years back and bought it all together. Mainly because i didnt know enough to build my own, but i think if you know enough you can get a much better deal doing it that way, and a PC to suit your gaming/work needs of course :>

Have a decent browse around online and in your area before you get one though....
