Students have too as well, even though it may not always look like it!Villa wrote:I pay nearly £1k a month to live at my place, and in addition have to do housework.
Bills aren't that expensive when shared tbh. Fortunately all the flats I've been in so far, bills are included, but from friends and so forth its not that costly.
No to U
I was paying 120 euros a week for my flat in Grenoble, that hurt, a lot.

Honestly, forget about it ... that is all i can say to that. I tried it every single year when i was in london. Your parents income plus your savings may not exceed something like 55k Euros a year which is not only poor but poor and a half to say at least.Stardestroyer wrote: Also, I've heard that you can apply for some sort of support from the EU that allows you back some money for the tuitition fee (think that's the word) which is 1,150£/year. Is this correct?
As i dont know where you coming from, you may try it but i personally doubt you see any money. When you come from one of the "richer" EU contries chances grow slimmer.
Even the procedure is painful as you (and parents) are required to fill in a huge number of forms and provide proof for literally every number written.
Cigs are bloody expensive, get some from spain or poland. Its all EU so you can take quite a lot for you. As long as you dont start selling them ... and the cheaper cigs there are usually lights
A bit of advice: UK is about 1/3 more expensive than most other EU countries, so it might be best if you have a bit of savings for a rainy day. When I was there for vacation it was okay, but 3 years ... jeeee still bleeding from that financial desaster! Its all these hidden costs.
A word on tution fees: first 2 years i got a bit of discount because I paid in full and cash. Just 100 quid but hey, fine with me! Dont know whether your uni is doing that but its worth a try.
To Nixon: Listen to that man, he is completely right. I had to move out my student hall flat at vacation, no one told us in advance so i was struck with my stuff! So do yourself a favour and CLOSELY READ the bloody terms and conditions. Furthermore: go and visit the house you want to live in first. No offence. but i was scared of the condition of some flats offered for rent! Some were a danger for the public ... and especially valid in the uk: you get what you pay for!
so far, if you have any further question just write ... as i have the "foreign" view on that business
