But the good news is that Congress and Senate have passed the bills required to drill in the ANWR (Arctic National Wildlife Refuge). Good. Quote me on this: Within 10 years that drilling in Alaska will move south to spaces near Santa Barbara California and other locations just off the coast of CA. When the oil drilling gets that close to home, some more Americans will realize how fucked up that bill was, but it will be too late.

Unfortunately, having a president who is so closely tied to the oil industry is not at all helpful in moving our country away from our dependence on foreign oil. Drilling for oil in our own country isn't the best solution. Reducing our dependency on oil alltogether would be my choice, but that would mean people use less oil, pay less for oil taxes, and the oil companies start losing money... and with a president who used to run an oil company, we can't have that, now, can we?
