Talk of UO's Doom is a bit silly when you consider Shadowbane is still going with 40k subscriptions.

Sure uo will be alive even with 40k subscribers, they will shut down most of the servers if that happens, and of course move most of the devs to other games.. then it will really suck. I don't think too many will leave if the client gets an overhaul, because it will just get better. And more players = more money = more devs, better balance and more testing of new code.

The client we are using now is isometric, 2d graphics, 8 directions and it has a maior flaw for pvp : it's too much ping dependant, with 3d you don't need to send and receive 10 packets/second to run(1 for every step, walk request and confirm/deny walk), you get a vector with your speed and direction, send speed change or direction change(acceleration), so it gets alot better. In 3d you can also really move upwards or downwards, giving houses and water some new strategic role.

You do'nt think these weapons are over powered? What other weapons have 100% hit spells on them?

This no-dachi is going to own, especially in light of the fact that lightning strike bugged and you can get off two hits in under a second with it. Imagine someone using that bug w/ this weapon.

Lightningt strike + 100% hit harm followed by concussion blow + 100% hit harm. Essentially, that's 4 hits in under a second... How many more 1-hit kills will we start seeing with this?

Oh yeah...riding swipe is bugged too... I won't get into details about that here, but yeah... this one weapon is a bit 'innocent looking,' but taking into account the other bugs with which it can be used makes it a bit too powerful.

Oh yeah.. the neon dyes are just lame. See comment about UO players/trammies really being small kids and raccoons. :)

Well then submit the bugs with an indication on how to reproduce them, i know the instahit bug, didn't think it worked for everything. These are easy fixes, with a good bug report they'll get done in the next publish.

So it's not the weapon itself that is overpowered, there are some bugs that work for every weapon out there, and they affect both pve(can kill demons in 1 second and succubus in 2 seconds) and pvp.

Don't submit bugs as pvp only or they'll get discarded, because not many players pvp actively in uo. I think the bug was introduced by the archery exploit fix(ais while running).

I didn't think about the possible ways to exploit the new weapons, and i agree crit + instahit is way overpowered, with any weapon, and even more with that sword.

I also think the bushido formula must be redone for pvp because direct damage isn't affected by resists(but should be somehow affected at least in pvp) and that causes the 1-hit kills.
