Oh, I agree. I'm not denying that at all. I also think that disarm whore pure mages are gay too, but I did that when it helped me out, as I'm sure you do yourself. Maybe you don't think it was gay, but you still did it, i'm sure.

As for Lady Redname's spelling, I like that. It makes sense. Very witty. :)

But back to the Bushido skills and abilities...they're pretty much all gay. Being able to parry flame strike after flame strike to take no damage... c'mon. THat's pretty lame. Being able to use a massively powerful mount in pvp that has special abilities (e.g. dismount) is gay too. But what do you expect from EA, really?

They produce games to their target demographic. I don't know who here is from america, but one of the hottest fads/trends among people 13-20 here in the states is Anime and the like. America has always had a facination with martial arts, ninjas, and associated things. If it means more sales for EA, the'll do it. I don't like the idea of incorporating Japanese fuedal society with middle age European Feudal societies, but wtf do I know? Technically, yes, they both existed at the same time, but they were also a world apart and neither knew of the other. Why the need to merge them in a game, I don't know.

Perhaps I need to lower my standards when it comes to games, or just take more pleasure in killing people and forget about the game and storyline altogether.

Yeah...ok.. So most of this had nothing to do with ghey riding swipe or higherIQs, but so what? :)

I agree with you about this whole Japenese mixed with European Feudal. It looks crap and out of place (even tho old rp'ers will swear it has a place cause of old UO's).

Yep its evasion.

On test I withstood a 10 man para gank by using evasion. i evaded most spells cast on me and ran off screen. I was so amazed that i survived that i ran back on the screen and spammed evasion. the 10 mages could not kill me. I was only doing 4 second heals too, but evasion is DAMN powerful.

Not sure whether i think its gimp though, i mean parry has been deflecting mele for ever.

One thing im glad i dont see to much of is the bug where you can swing twice in one swing counter, one swing is an AI. if the other does the direct damage with Lightening strike then excpet to receive in the regein of 80-105 damage for the two hits.

Note that i recreated this whenever I wanted and this damage is based on a 50 DI spear and NO jewlery. so with 100 DI id say its insta kill for anyone.

gotta lov EA.

Are you sure you aren't confusing counterattack with a bug ?

Not unless counter attack allows you to do a direct damage LS and an AI at the same time, nope. :P

Wish it was just counterstrike thouhg, that lets you do 2 hits in one swing.
This is definately not meant to be, and you can tell by the way you recreate it.

Counterattack will swing a second hit with whatever special move is armed at the time, if you parry a hit when the counterattacvk stance is in action.
So, it is entirely possible for 2 swings in a split second, both with armour ignore.
If the opponent has been honoured (i.e. perfection is in place), or the attacker has embraced honour, then an insta kill is possible with counterattack stance.

A few weeks ago, I successfully tested counterattack on some of my colleagues. Didn't manage to insta kill, but then again I didn't have tactics on my samurai. If I had tactics, my colleague would have died on at least two occassions due to the insane amount of damage done by two concussion blows from a 'wrath of the dryad' in a split second via counterattack stance. Note - I wasn't using honour/perfection either.

Counterattack = good possibility of insta kill, though it is of course dependent on a successful parry, and you having the appropriate high damage special move armed (Or just lucky to get critical strike from lightning strike special move that was armed).
