I would actually be in favour of disabling special moves for mages and leaving them in for dexers.

Not really, fairly good idea.

Remove the Bleed/LP and maybe one or two others, not like a dexxer is overly hard to drop anyway.

OR.

Just make me a pre-tram shard, so i can go back to a disarm thief and own you all.

Honestly Amber, it's not becouse i'm a necro that I say strangle is nowhere near as bad as bleed.

Bleed requirements = Use at anytime, all you need is wepskill and bleed wep. Can work it so people are fucking CONSTANTLY bleeding, it's so gay.

Strangle Requirements = 200-240 skill points, can only really use it when precast becouse no one is stupid enough to let you cast it midfight. Nerfed strangle would make necro's pretty shite.

Bleed isnt even that bad, its possible to get lvl6 spells off in it, it's just lame when its combined with something like poison, which usually it is.

Mortal is overpowered as hell too, I killed too many people with too much ease all because I could chain mortal and stop them healing. If they weaken spam me, I can still kill them with my weapon/magic arrow or light wand. :/

Archery is officially fucked beyond any use now.

Instead of fixing running shot/AI and shoot and run, they made it so that you have to stand still from 5-10+ secs to get a shot off.

Move one tile and the timer resets.


My most enjoyable template - SkullWasp is no more. And never once did I ever abuse any of the bugs for archer. Not one singe moving shot/AI and dropped my dex as soon as i found out i could shoot and run.

Well done OSI.

And for those who are happy for this, be aware that you can no longer pvm with your archers effectively too.

I dont really agree there, specials gave dexers something different to do, gave them a *little * bit of tactics. I compare it to hitting as if im casting lighterning and then for 30 mana i can do a flame strike on you (AI)

Not a perfect comparison i know.

Special moves used in conjunction with mages who have a lot of mana is why specials seem so overpowering. (and of course the templates that are geared to spit out mad damage with chain AIs - althought in reality they are only hitting every other hit.

They were never intended for mages though. Devs said it, it was an over sight like 5/6 casting.

Once in place though they thaught it added to the diversity.

check UO.com, they are always reffered to as warrior special moves.

I think personally that specials should be tied into tactics.

Any special that does 50hp is overpowered.

How can their be a balance when 2 dexers can almost 2 hit kill almost anyone?

Nevermind two dexers, 2 mages with prepared fs+ai will kill anyone. Skillz? No, Tactics, Not really.

Yes, specials do add a little bit of randomness for dexers, but mages dont need them.

spell channel should be removed, spec moves left in.
then if someone wants to use them they have to keep the wep armed long enough for the timer to tick (about a second) without casting


fixed. just like it used to be on my tank mages



spell channel is the biggest mistake of aos that hasant (and wont) be fixed

anything that stops it is good. my ideas better though, and tieing it into tact is crap, cause its easy enough for a mage to fit tactics in

/me agreed with spell chan

I showed that with pvp4all on europa its more than possible to play tank mages without spell chan, and still be far more effective than a wrestle mage.

Although that died out with one of the publishes, was one of the more fun times AoS Duel wise i had

The point about specials, yes you can get lvl 6 spell of between disturbs, but remember you will be fired by spells too all the time, and now we have these never ending mana geeks who do 3-5 bleeds in one dump, its just RIDICULOUS.

Add tactics as requirement for specials and remove spellchanneling. This would make dexers a LOT stronger, but lets face it, tell me any dexer that can kill a real mage 1v1. No one can, ok maybe with luck, but generally its always mage that comes out as a winner.

And how freaking easy it is to kill dexers nowadays with bleed / mortal ? Too easy. Same goes with mages, I see every mage that can be considered "able to compete" or "good" knows how to time the following spells combined with bleed well enough to kill anyone without pots basically: explo/ebolt/poison/lightning. And none of them is a danger without the bleed, sometimes chained. And when you dump them they have NO clue how to defend, UO has gone way too agressive with this horrible mana amount and specials. Sure it's fun but what I suggested would be nice :o

my dexer can kill any 'real' mage except ones who disarm bug

50% hml butchers knife and lp

disarm/lp/lp/lp/lp/disarm/lp/lp
repeat
i carry 6 dp pots and never run out of mana, unless they carry 70 cures they wont live unless they run


dexers are gimped to fuck atm, but no more then gimp mages

(on a side note i manage to fight most dexer with my 40 phys, although its often via abusing walls
