Buying a new tv

Hi guysh
Wanna buy a new tv but this is literally the first time I've ever bought one, and nit really clues in in any case.
I'm thinking 40 inch +.
Dont really wanna spend too much. Preferably not more than 1000,unless it's a big difference in what I'm getting. I figure I'll keep it for several years so nay as well get a good one.
ATM I've been looking at BRAVIA KDL-40EX710, which looks decent.
Thoughts/suggestions please.
This will probably double up as a monitor for amazing league of legends experience. The fact I can put it on the network means I can hook up a TB of storage and then play to the tv directly, in theory!

If you're hooking it up as a monitor then why would you play to TV directly from another storage device and not just from your PC?

You don't need to spend a grand unless electronics prices are higher there..(should be cheaper surely).
£500 will get you a nice 40-42 inch. Samsung, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG. Sony are overpriced to fuck. Although I guess having a KOREAN tv in Japan isn't the best idea...

Aren't you living in a country full of electronics experts?
Surely just stopping a random jap on the street and asking him would be better than obtaining advice from us?

We get like a 10th of the models that come out the country you're living in, so our advice wont mean shit!

Japanese people don't know shit about anything technical or electronic.
It's actually rediculous. Apart from massive geeks (I don't know any. They're all at home geeking out) no-one knows anything.
Average person can barely use the Internet.
So yeah you think I would be set, and there ARE a lot of tv's here. But the fact I know fuck all about them means I just get confused.
