the future of gaming industry?

whats your opinions of the future of gaming? are we gonna be stuck in a world of digital downloads for all media types (pc/consoles require webs conns/hd's)

will retail die? is there always gonna be a "retail" outlet as everything needs a "face".

rentals/secondhand sales? can they ever stop this...surely its freespeech or free action? (i myself sold 6xDS games yesterday for £40 to a retailer in cannock, because id bought some software on amazon that basically allows me to download any DS game i want onto a 8gb microcard, and yes its illegal, but is a "payed" version of this the future?)

I'm waiting for the day where we download stuffz directly into our brainz.

Not as far fetched as you may think; I saw this in Demolition Man and also in Johnny Mnemonic.
