Buying PC's off ebay..

I'm looking to buy a new PC in the next 2 months, I expected to pay a small fortune, but it seems like PC's have dropped a lot in price (or rather I've not kept an eye on prices).

I'm looking for something that's fairly powerful, 2-4GB RAM, with a good graphics card.

Hard drive size and such, is not overly important - I'll be using the it largely for gaming/multimedia work. I'm not worried about any additional stuff like a monitor as I can upgrade my current one at a later date.

Anyone have experience of buying from ebay etc? Any help finding me a PC would be much appreciated. I'll set a limit at 500 quid, which looking at a few sites, seems fair for what I'm after.

Ebay is np surely, just pay with paypal and it's pretty hard to go wrong.

I've not really kept up with current specs/prices, Zim is prob the person to ask, he's just built a new one.

Never bought a desktop off eBay, but i was looking for a portable cheap laptop to use at uni, i used eBay, it was fine, got an ex-corp one. Obviously every seller varies, i paid close attention to feedback, going as far back as a year for the guys i bought it from, and althouygh they had a few negatives, the postives by far out weighed them.

So aye, just shop around n pay attention.

Google the Dell outlet shop. These are cancelled orders and unused returns with big discounts.

There's actually some pretty mad stuff on there for very cheap.
