Nobs

need to buy a laptop for AZIA, i posted a topic like this before, but is out of date now.

Want it for the usual things, including some light gaming. I don't expect it to be able to play the newest games etc but should be able to run uo/wow/AOK/Team fortress 2 etc. That kind of stuff.

My budget = as little as possible. I don't need a beastly machine, but i want one which wont make me tear out my hair because its slow opening skype or firefox.

HELP PLZ.

Laptops are shit and slow in my experience unless you spend a lot of money, just get a second hand one for 50 quid or whatever. Basically ebay or fridayads or something.

What Calix said. I've stopped looking for fast game splaying laptops now, that involves paying £1,500 on crap like Alienware that weights 3 tonnes.

Now I just like the idea of portability. Can't beat the Asus EEE PC! £200, small and light.

obviously laptops are shit, but i dont have a choice. Its laptop or internet cafe etc.

I reckon spending 6-700 should allow me to get a laptop which can play UO at least. I wont be playing wow cos i realised that MMO in japanese just wont work. Imagine that, trying to do a new instance and all i hear on vent is CHING CHONG CHING CHINON RICE SUSHI CHING

not racist.

You can play uo with no lag, 32mb video card, 256 ram (192 in reality)

So basically any laptop will play uo. I'd suggest paying 400 at most.

seems pretty good from the reviews i've seen. what gfx card/ram did you get etc?

i will hold off buying anything until just before i leave, for the obvious reason of newer stuff getting released, prices dropping etc etc.

What a complete waste of money...
Just buy something mediocre from Ebay for like 200 and it'll run everything you need it to, a dual core laptop?
Why? It's not needed, it's like buying a shroud of Ari in UO when you only need 5 phys not 10.
