Potential PvP changes...

Hail and Well Met! Thank you all for assisting in this focus group for PvP. Wilki
and I have been reviewing all the feedback you all have provided for us from message
forums, community events, PMs, emails, feedback you have provided to Jeremy, and so
on.
Before we can make PvP gameplay more fun long term, we have made an attempt to
address the following issues on Test Center (TC4).
PvP Proposed Fixes
1. Weapon special moves now require Weapon Skill, Anatomy, and Tactics of
appropriate skill levels. (i.e., 70 in each skill for primary weapon special moves,
90 in each skill for secondary weapon special moves). Note: Wrestling special moves
will be exempt from this change. Will receive cliloc error 1079308.
2. Can no longer stack using a weapon special move and casting a spell or
activating a skill ability.
3. Nerve Strike paralysis is now breakable on hit.
4. Mana Regeneration from items is now capped at 8.
5. Hit Point Increase from items is now capped at 25.
6. Enhance Potion from items is now capped at 50. Player characters with Alchemy
skill can increase this cap by 10 for every 33 points of Alchemy (i.e., 80 at GM
Alchemy). Skill items and the human racial bonus do affect this cap which means that
human player characters with no Alchemy skill will be treated as if they possess 20
Alchemy skill.
7. Magery damage spells will receive a 10% Spell Damage Increase bonus if reagents
are consumed during casting. This 10% may exceed the current 15% PvP Spell Damage
Increase cap.
8. The formula for controlling a tamed pet currently is based on 80% Taming, 20%
Animal Lore. This will now be changed to 50% Taming, 50% Animal Lore so it requires
more of a skill commitment to reliably control a tamed pet. The formula for actually
taming a creature will remain unchanged.
9. For controlling Lesser Hiryus, a player character will now need a significant
amount of Bushido or an appropriately high skill level in Animal Taming and Animal
Lore. Success chance for control is determined by whichever skill set gives a better
chance of control (i.e., Bushido or the combination of Animal Taming and Animal
Lore). Lesser Hiryus controlled by Samurai will now be affected by pet loyalty. This
means that lower skilled Samurai will find that they need to feed their pets often
or risk losing them. The chance to tame a Lesser Hiryu will remain the same.
10. Active Meditation will now have a higher success chance at low mana values.
Not on TC4 yet.
11. Ethereal mount stamina will now regenerate when a player character is not
mounted. This value is stored on the character, so it will apply to any ethereal
mount that character uses.
12. Evasion can now only be activated once every 30 seconds. Will receive cliloc
error 1079335.
13. Cancel targeting cursor when using Animal Form. This is to prevent abuses such
as using a bola, changing into Animal Form, running up your opponent with mount
speed, changing out of Animal Form, and then instantly targeting your opponent.
14. Anything that can dismount a player character will now force an opponent out
of Animal Form. This includes weapon special moves such as Dismount and Riding
Swipe, items such as bolas, and any creatures with Dismount, Raging Stomp, or Bola
Throwing AI.
15. Death Strike will now cause 50% less damage when using a ranged weapon.
16. Lightning Strike can now only be activated every 15 seconds. Will receive
cliloc error 1079335.
17. Cancel targeting cursor when using the Hiding skill.
18. Ecru Rings have been changed to possess 25% Enhance Potions.
19. Rune Beetle Corruption pet ability will now reduce each resist by one half of
its value for the duration of the corruption. The Rune Beetle Corruption pet ability
use to reduce all resists to 0.
20. When commanded, pets will possess the same notoriety as their masters. Not on
TC4 yet.
What we need from you all is to test these changes (currently on TC4) and give us
your feedback on them. If you have other ideas to improve PvP, feel free to provide
them.
We acknowledge that a few of these changes will affect PvM gameplay. This is
intentional. However, most of the changes should primarily impact PvP, which
currently needed serious rebalancing.
Thanks again for participating and helping us improve PvP gameplay in Ultima Online!
