Nice article, however I don't think Kingdom Reborn is going to change anything.
If you ask me, its going to all come down to new server(s).
UOR era and Publish 25 era.
It would have to be really thought out and should carry no mistakes made from the current servers and tbh, someone like yourself Noxin should be involved.


Have you ever tried contacting someone at OSI/EA about a new server, something like that?
I'd be curious as to what reaction they'd give.

Kokane I know a lot of well respected long time players like Dor of Sonoma, who attend all OSI's 'town hall' meetings - so actually know the dev's irl - have been on at them for years about some form of classic server. Still nothing doing.

Sucks but it's never going to happen.

Kingdom Reborn looks wank, only thing that could make UO fun again is either a classic shard, or some kind of ruleset repair(with update to the champ spawn system)

If I could I would, if I remember correctly they were all stored in the database which got owned pretty hard by GLPH gOOns or some such group explioting a win-nuke vunerability that I couldn't be assed to fix.

I'll have another look tomorrow though see if I can figure the mess out.

I've actually had to work hard on making my writing far more readable lately, even to the point of spell checking stuff!
It's just one of the downsides to being such a GENUOIS.

Occasionally I'll send someone at EA an E-Mail, but this approach has never once been a success. The only time I actually got through the defence "We know best" shield they seem to weild was with Hanse. That took a lot of planning and commitment to pull off and relied on his love of interacting with players anyway, and the fact he's actually a reasonable guy who often pushed the rules when he could. (Which eventually led to him losing out on a lead position and leaving)

I've considered making a stab at Draconi, because he displays similar qualities, however he is pure Trammel through and through, he joined the Dev team after being a player himself, his chosen playstyle was that of a rares collector and general trader, with no interest in Felucca let alone PvP.

the chances of me becoming involved with EA again in any sort of situation like Publish 25 are tiny, it's a shame really, because I only know 2-3 other people I've ever met playing the game that could offer the same level of insight into their own game.

The last 3 nights I've logged on for an hour or two and just sat there thinking.. I want to play some UO... but it doesn't even exist anymore.
