Repost from UO Hall about PKers

The year was 1997. I was so excited. I drove to CompUSA to upgrade my 28.8k modem to 56k. I log on to Ultima Online and I am blown away. I quickly go up to the hills and start mining only to be one-shotted by a fireball by some Pkiller. I was frustrated. I played a bit more, but did not really get back into things until Trammel was introduced years later.
Trammel pissed off a lot of people. But I say anyone who was pissed off at Trammel's creation was the zit-faced boy who was picked on in school, and now had lost his opportunity to get back at unsuspecting individuals. After all, PvP was clearly still available. But no, that was not good enough. It's more fun ganking low level characters so you can make yourself feel better; revenge for that lunch money that was stolen, or that girl who said "no" to the prom invite. You were a real man now, for behind the monitor you had access to a new level of power you could not legally obtain in real life. Proudly you show off your macro for "Noob" as you blast away at miners and other adventurers.
ANYONE who complains (or complained) about Trammel is quite simply a "ganker", that’s it. End of story. Dont sugar coat it and say "it takes away from roleplaying". Nope that’s not it. You just like beating down on lower level characters to make you feel better about yourself.
Now dont get me wrong, PvP is the ultimate in AI. You are fighting another human; it's the ultimate challenge. And you can still have all of this in Felucca.
But please spare me any more posts about how the creation of Trammel ruined UO. Instead of complaining about that go to www.classmates.com, and find that guy who took your lunch money and get it back.
