dialup newbie

Hi.
So, I've moved home and we don't have broadband here, I won't be here for more than a few weeks, to 3 months max, so getting bb is out of the question.
Currently using a 56k modem dialup access, which is shit but at least allows me to check emails & forums.
Basically, I'm using a 1p a minute no contract thing with orange, was just wondering if anyone knows of a better alternative, something with free hours or anything cheaper again. 1p a minute soon adds up when a single page takes forever to load ;/
any help would be appreciated, ta.

Orange are offering free broadband if you spend over £30 a month with them.
They have taken over wannadoo or whatever it was called.

There's some that do contracts that aren't 12 months as well now isn't there?

Yes but from speaking with mates, most companies that do contracts less than 12 months are pretty wank, but I suppose they'd be alright as longs your not download shit loads or wanting to play games.

my last DSL was with plusnet and that was month by month and unlimited and was very happy with the service, some might charge if you quit using them within the first 6 months, check the small print on that one.
