To those who think Mages are so cool...

...name me some famous mages/wizards/sorcerors/whatever.
Go on; name just ONE heroic spell abusing folklore hero.
You can't can you ? Don't even bother with that Gandalf nonsense, because as I stated elsewhere this loser casts just ONE spell in the three LOTR films, and even then that spell is Holy Light - something used by noble Paladins; rest of the time this nub used his sword.
Even in UO, the most notorious mages use weapons. Yes WEAPONS.
People like Zole, Zim Zum and all the rest - they abuse items that were meant to be used by valiant warriors. See that Warfork used by the evil conjuror Duririn ? Yes ? that my friends is something designed for a fighter to use. It was intended to be used by a muscular young men with biceps the size of melons and pulsating pectorals that would make any young maiden swoon. What it was NOT intended for was to be held aloft by a practioner of the arcane arts.
You see, the mages in UO realised a long time ago that magery truly is for wimps, and that they need to augment their pathetic inabilities by turning to weapons and in essence becoming quasi-warriors.
I mean, how often have you seen HE MAN smiting his enemies with fireballs ? When was the last time LION O put aside his Sword of Omens in favour of a quick bolt of lightning ?
Oh wait you say - what about wrestle mages ? - well I say to you why do these cowardly wimps need to use a SHIELD ? huh ? yes a shield - that device intended to be used by titanic legends to block blows fro mtheir opponents. Realistically, a wimpy wizard could barely hold a shield using both hands and his feet....

In fact, remember the ultimate evil person ever - Sauron ?
He was a friggin MACER for f**ks sake. Remember how in the beginning of LOTR he strides out solo to face the massive gank alliance of Elves and Humans ? There he is wearing elite plate armour and wielding his mighty WAR MACE that is btter than artifakt bettr than bonecrusher buy now 5m!!111
