Bit of a suck up article but for me (and remember im Scottish!) its on the ball. Ive never understood the hate that alot of English folk have for Becks, in my opinion he's the best midfielder you've ever had (consistancy wise), at least in my lifetime.
Don't get me wrong, Lamps, Gerrard, Carrick (fo Calix) are great players but Beckham really was in a league of his own, he's one of the few players out there that can really carry a team.
Just interested in your opinion on him? You want him in the Qualifiers and if so, the World Cup? Personally i think you'll be at a great disadvantage if you dont take him, Walcot is good but he's hardly the fineshed product, and despite having promise, Pennant, Bentley and Lennon are all failing to live up to the hype.

Beckham is a nob for his celebrity-mass tattoo idiot lifestyle, but yeah, he was/is a great player.
I'd disagree about the carrying a team part, becouse he played @ United with one of the best midfields ever seen in this country, but then he did actually carry the England team for about 5 years..

He still looked wank tastic the other night against Rangers...but then...friendly... and Rangers

He's obviously delivering the goods in Italy otherwise the Milan fans wouldn't be talking so highly of him. Whatever anyone's opinion of him on a personal level, I don't think anyone could ever question his professionalism and commitment.
The England team needs players with this kind of dedication, because the lack of passion and desire has been all too evident in recent years.
Even the biggest Beckham critics still admit that he is still one of the best in the world at delivering set pieces, argueing that the rest of the time he is useless. But if just one of those set pieces delivers a goal, then surely he has justified his inclusion?
No matter who you play against, having someone with that ability is a major threat. Therefore it is no surprise he has already got plenty of assists, and scored two very impressive goals.

See I disagree, dont get me wrong I think alot of the time his life is in the paper abit too much, but I think thats more down to Victoria Attention Please Beckham.
On the park I think he'd walk into any team in the world, he'd be an asset. Was it last year he trained with Arsenal and they suddenly started scoring from set pieces? Alot of people put it down to his influence.
I think Zim sums it up, while he's no Ronaldo on a skill level, the fact is he trains harder than most and imho deserves a starting role, perhaps as a Scot im biast but I think the reason England valud/under-achieved over the years is that their biggest names are always the best team players, Becks is a team player.

Apparently Beckham shows up hours before he needs to for practice. So he's dedicated. And yeah, hes the best in the world when it comes to set pieces and crosses.
BUT
Hes slow as fuck.
