Oh, I do have an assasin though, had him for several years. He has stealth and poison. I guess hes the gimpest char ever then eh?
actually, that character requires FAR more skill to play than your standard dexer or paladin.
I been playing him since way before the stealth changes, back then no one had stealth cuz it was just to damn shit.
Now we got a million mages all screaming that they should be able to reveal - but what about every other template?
Greed, greedy arrogant things are mages. (and I got 4 of em)
I have a Stealther poison character, and it is not hard to play with it.
Wasnt hard to play with it before stealth changes, and I could say it is easier to play with it now than a pub 15 dexer who only needed to make auto follow and you were dead.

I personally think it is nice to see some more people move over from Europa. I used to always enjoy my fights with DiE before they mass recruited a load of idiots. But sounds like only the slightly less recent DiE members are moving over, and people like Armstrong and Freedom have become decent mages from what I hear. Ecks is a nice person to fight too.
It's even encouraging me to go out and buy a new computer with money I dont have, so I can start playing a mage properly again. Ive only ever been playing on Drachs on this laptop, and it's just impossible to time spells properly due to the freezes after every spell cast.

If your killing a tamer whos half dead, then yes it was easy.
vs a real pvper, playing with a 200 point handicap is not so easy.
Before the changes, practically everything revealed you and mages had loads of ways to reveal you.
Its fun now that you cannot be so easily revealed, and you have to shadow strike to hide yourself.
Again though, i have other types of dexers, and their tactics are completely different. Everyone of my chars has a completely different playstyle cuz id die of boredom just playing a pure mage all the time.

Stealther = PK
PK is not meant to own a PvPer in old days
Nowadays a PK pretty much = PvPer
big difference when comparing old to new.

Also I remember many of our stealthers pre-stealth changes own PvP'rs even
We did do sometimes ganking when stealthers too, dismount and all stealthers run from hiding and kirr the person

why the hell were u going after 'pvpers' on a old stealth char (and can you please be more specific by 'old')
the only times you should really be facing real pvpers is if another pk came along and you had a decent oppertunity to strike them. in 3 years of playing a stat pk stealth char i faced mayby 300 'real' pvpers (and got around 3000 kills) and they were all alts of tamers.
the moment you use a stealth char to pvp is the moment you may as well be dead.

Yeah im afraid I have to pick up on that quote too. Up until the changes in aos, playing a stealth pk took a good deal of skill and was also very rewarding. The whole idea of the char was to use the element of surprise to get the kill versus people who you would never be able to kill with that template just by running up to them visible. It was nothing about who had what on the template, though of course pvmers were always the choice targets, but when the facet split came in, most of the people pvming in fel were alts of pvpers as Slamer said. So it was common to pk someone's tamer then have their "main" turn up a few mins later.
SE has completely trammelised one of the more skilful template types, so now any fucking idiot can stay alive on a stealther. Congrats to OSI and congrats to all the fuckers who were too stupid and inept to play a stealther before and now choose to play them almost exclusively.

True, but ive never really liked the idea of drapping unworthy foes.
My stealth assasin can take most decent pvpers, which isnt bad considerign hes shy 200 points. I just use stealth to get the suprise attack and to escape uncomfortable situations. I feel no shame shadowing away, since thats what I boult the temp for.

Well, AOS enabled be me be almost 45 hci/45 100 DI and swing at 1 per sec. That plus the element of suprise meant that the average foe would be half HP and LPd before he knew what was going on.
Also, I mean "old template" cuz the standard Assasin template is pretty old school, AOS just gave them power, SE made them easier to play and made thier 200 points a little more worth while.
Love em or hate em, whatever - they work.
I was out today doing well, till the group brought in a tracker/revealer. all of a sudden im a dead man.
ANyone who complains about stealth and thinks thier 3- pr wjatever points in magery should be able to undo it all needs to take a step back i think.
Yeah stealthers are annoying, but theyre easy to take care of if your willing to use the points for it.
remember, it may seem like a lot to invest 200 points to catch a stealther, but 1 char with 200 points will catch EVERY stealther arround. WOnt be long before people adapt and have a tracker as part of their group as standard. Personally i think thats exactly how it should be.
