Ok here are a few random Drachs pics as all of us are feeling nostalgic now.
I'll start with one of my favourites, the moment when Calix actually looked like he knew how to play UO (after 7 years).
Some random necro pics now. This was definitely the most fun character I ever had in UO, just the sheer destructive power of wand nekro mage from hell made it so enjoyable to play. Watching all the Americans then trying to copy the template was even funnier.
HI CASHIES
My stealth mage. This was the crappest, most underpowered character ever but I couldn't stop playing him for some reason, a real comedy character.
The patented Zim
© method of killing dexers, tried and tested on 3 different shards, and always guaranteed to produce top drawer shit talk.
The most criminally neglected part of UO pvp, Boat Wars.
I have to post pics of this next guy, after years of pro Korea I-C, we finally got a real life mad hacking korean uo player on a European shard, complete with wand scripts, explo scrolls, 115 pots every time, and (soon after meeting Calix) a trap box. I loved fighting this guy, even if it did mean covering half the shard chasing him.
WAND WARS
Drachenfels attempt at an AI
Finally a couple of satisfying Drachs moments. Drachs had far less egos then EU, but they still existed. One of the ones that really sticks in my mind is Zachary's. Someone who gained his by being the usual Drach's bleed mage but combining it with a suit with massive hpi and using enhance pots and str pots to get as much as 160hp. Here I spanked him whilst fighting two other people and doing the whole thing in front of the entire Brit Gate lot. I never saw him again after this.
This next fight was more satisfying. It was a couple of weeks after SAMURAI EMPRIRE came out, and pretty much everyone in I-C quit again. Cashies being cashies, they quickly worked out that Ninjutsu was a deadly thing to have on a mage, mostly because not only was deathstrike overpowered, it was also severely bugged.
Basically if they tracked you for a few screens, they could hit you with a deathstrike for 70hp damage. This 70hp was only supposed to land if you moved 5 tiles or more after being hit, but thanks to the bug you were getting hit for 70hp even standing still. The favourite cashie trick was to run away, tracking you all the time, then when you caught them you got hit with an explo, deathstrike and another spell, spelling insta death for most people.
Cyric and Calix being the below average crap players they are fell for this trick fighting Sanary and Jarret, the two best Cashies, and got spanked. Zim to the rescue! I ended up in Deceit from fire trying to fight the two of them constantly deathstriking me for 70 hp each, and also the attentions of 3 liches on one level, and 1,752 wraiths the other. After several minutes of surviving I finally got the chance and killed Sanary first then Jarret quickly after. I think this was the hardest fight I ever had, harder than playing IKARUGA with your eyes shut. So that's why I was so elated afterwards.
As far as they were concerned, it must be fucking painful to know that you've got the very best equipment UO can provide (thanks to their hardcore duping), the most deadly template (thanks to deathstrike) and of course a 2 to 1 advantage and yet you still get killed by someone in I-C.
THE END
The loser senji had already bailed out of UO by the time I got on Drachs, but Im going to try and find all my nice EU pics and do another post later this week.
