The role of such a comment was to convey that the media portrayal of the various actions in New Orleans was not particularly unusual; it’s not the first or last time that deep seated racism will creep into the media. Maybe the phrasing was slightly blasé and maybe I was wrong to attempt to take a cheap shot and inject some humour, who knows? However the only pointless thing I can see is the various attempts to vilify a perfectly valid point.
