Precisely

It's a loan from the gvt anyway, they can't make me pay interest and it is cancelled after a while if I don't make enough (though unlikely). hmm I think I'll get a history degree at liverpool or newcastle and work for a newspaper

You do pay interest on student loan though, girlfriend pays 2% apr on hers, and the more she earns, the quicker she has to pay it back.

True.
But people seem to think it's one of the other. You'll have to get experience regardless. Why not get it with a degree behind you too?

takes time~
a degree + a month experiance vs 3 years exp (depending how long it took you to get the degree ofc)
if your good at your job you will end up the same in the end, degree or not

No.
Totally depends on the job. You'll find that a lot of vacancies will only accept applications from people with the relevant qualifications - you simply won't even get looked at without it.
Of course this applies to experience too, but in 6 years time you're way better off having a degree + 3 years experience than 6 years experience and no qualifications...

One person at my school has a 17k Ford Focus (loads and loads of modifications to it), he can afford it because his parents are part owners of Texaco, that oil company thing. Lucky twat, lol

hmm, I think I can manage that still. One option is to get the navy or army to pay to put me through uni, then do a year service or whatever, hopefully sitting behind some radio or radar thing like a pussy rather than being in the action heh
As for experience vs degree, you need both and with the aims I have the degree is important. I want to have an important role in a national newspaper eventually. Going to oxford would have helped but I think that is beyond me now.

You have to do a minimum of 3 years service for that otherwise you will be required to pay back the money.
