I've lost all interest in football as a whole cant even be bothered to watch it on the TV, trouble is that everyone knows clubs have rich owners so price goes up and someone will pay it.

This will continue for a few more years then the bottom will fall out of football and all the "big" clubs will be fucked!

I still think liverpool arent playing well, no width, although with new guy that might change and still dont look that threatening in front of goal!

I alsop agree England are shit, i cant be bothered with them either, tried to watch Czech V England the other week, couldnt do it!

afaik manu has just as much debt as liverpool?

also city wont break top 4 even if they did get a few decent players. tottenham hasnt delivered at all, manu has been shit. Only team so far that has delivered is chelsea, even tho they only managed a draw this weekend.

More I think.

..and know what you're saying about prices Angus, problem is it costs say 25 quid to watch Bolton. Surely people aren't going to keep paying that forever. I can't remember exact figures but I was reading an average ticket @ Shalke or Dortmund is about 6 quid..

This is what happens when you have a free market enterprise at work in your country.
Sometimes communism can be a good thing.

Thing is, the German League has gone backwards, Dortmund arent really a European team anymore, ok Wolfsburg have came up a little, as have Schakle and Hamburg, but there not teams you expect past the group stages or even that far into the UEFA cup, hell even Bayern arent that impressive anymore, perhaps its due to a lack of money going into the league (par Bayern who will always make it).

I dunno, i see the argument for tickets being so high but I agree, it cant go on forever, espically with Setanta etc being so competitive, aye watchin a game at home/pub isent the same atmosphere, but if it saves you £50+ for ONE game are you really bothered?

Guys, don't forget Blackburn basically bought their title in the 90s.

crazy shit

really should be some kind of income/profit based wage limit. I wouldn't know how best to work it, but it isn't good that some dodgy arab/russian/(insert racial stereotype here) can move in, buy loads of players and make your club financially unstable for years to come.

dunno if anyone of you thought about this, but its kind of funny the first black dude to manage a premiership team manages blackburn.

I watched some shitty film which was set in a time where noone cared about sports anymore because it was just about money and victory celebrations.

I forgot the name but its basically the way it is now.

Its just another business. Its more exciting to watch sunday league matches where people care about winning and just want to play.

I wonder if players even enjoy playing anymore..

From this point untill the end of time the PL will only be won by clubs based in fashionable cities that eastern businessmen don't mind living in for a few weekends per year.

I was really shocked Robinho moved to City, and glad the 50m bid for Torres was laughed off. I thought that to some extent second and third rate clubs wouldn't be able to make use of their rich owners because the world class talent available would only move to bigger CL clubs. Robinho just set a new precedent in terms of the supreme importance of money in player transfers.

Why are clubs going to sell good players now at a correct price when they can just demand ridiculous fees and hope a second rate club like City will come in and pay a huge sum at the last minute, leaving the unsettled player with no other options.

As a Liverpool fan I'm not worried about a top four finish this season but certainly am next season, and the PL now looks more distant than ever. From a club point of view I want DIC to hurry up and takeover. I've always thought it's important to be fans of the game itself first and to protect it from club/corporate interests, but it's a bit late for that now isn't it.
