Does look rather spiffing.
I really hope they have kept the fundemental fun factor from 2 though with all these new features.

Demo is pretty good, loads of glaringly obvious bugs though.

Played about 6-7 skirmishes now, initially I was quite dissapointed, but once you start learning the build orders and how to properly use your home city the tactical elements re-present themselves.

However, it does seem to be a MUCH faster game, this could all be due to the fact the demo is a 1v1 tiny map so you're pretty much forced tofight right off the bat unlike AOK.

I'll definatly be getting it (And paying for it! omg) purely for multiplayer.

But I hope they fix some of the really stupid bugs they left in the demo, for example, monk sprites are in mid air and horizontal and some of the random "goody huts" are so bugged, the critters guarding them often times get EVADE BUGGED and reset.

the home city idea I like, it's kind of like a greatly expanded civ bonus, but you have to customize it yourself as you play through games.

Interesting demo.
It seems very different from AOE2.
Doesn't look like you need to build lumber/mining camps or farms, thus the game is very fast with emphasis more on combat than micro management (I could be wrong though - only played 2 skirmishes and the campaign).

One annoying thing was that I couldn't find a way to display your current population and the population cap.

Also, the graphics were not as good as I had read they would be. I did have all the graphics options on max, so not sure what went wrong.

Definately worth a look, but again - it is very different from aoe2.
