I'm not sure I understand this, I remember the release of 3rd dawn and I never paid for it myself, but cannot remember it changing much other than a few people moaning about how shit playing in 3d was and giving them lag.
Maybe I'm just missing a lot though, it's hard to remember that far back.

I think he might have been refering to the devs mindset from that point as apposed to the actually pub itself. Not wanting to put words into anyones mouth..

Thats defiently one point.

While there wasn't a whole lot wrong with Third Dawn in terms of gameplay measures affecting the general user, the restriction on players being allowed to enter, the dire problems the client suffered, the gaping holes blatently ignored by the devs, (The beta forum was littered with complaints), the expansion still somehow made public release.

Now while the Dev team ignoring players and so forth was nothing new - some players really should be ignored, the mixture of problems, were the first sign things were going down hill and changing direciton.

I mean random shit that had no place in the game started appearing.

Don't get me wrong, UO:R had its problems too, but on the whole, it was a sucessful release.
