My point is not that these items create more balance shifts, or give too much of an advantage over other things, but with all of the bugs in the game that cause major problems, one would think that these major bugs would be addressed before these people toss candy to the children.
Here's a bad analogy, but you will get the idea. America is at war in Afghanistan and Iraq, and I don't care what the fuck the media and american "news" outlets say, but it's fucked up and we're not doing well at all. The citizens and civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq are dying and worse off than they were before we went there to 'help out.' Sure, in some areas things are better, but overall, the power just shifted and we're doing a half assed job by fighting a war in 2 countries before finish a war in one country.
Now, take a look at what you see on the american "news." You see people in front of one school that's being built up again, and people are happy. Well, the school was blown up because of american bombs. We broke it, and we're fixing it, and we expect these people to say 'thanks' to us?
It's as though EA has taken the same approach, but on a smaller scale. They release a new product, like UO:SE, and it creates some over powered ninja and samauri characters. No one notices that bushido is super powerful because everyone is looking at all of the ninjitsu stuff that's so powerful. Once they fix that, they notice that bushido is super powerful and there are bugs that allow someone to possibly kill another character in the game in 1 hit.... or two consecutive hits in less than a second...
People start bringing up this and they give us the neon armor dies and 100% hit harm weapons...
Now, those no-dachis...yeah. They're over powered...just wait till you start seeing some more bushido bugs and people catch on...

Phule there is always bugs and they always take a long time to get fixed, it's futile to look at everything else in relation to them. The items are ok imo, if they get more people able to pvp on a level base then it's a good thing. The dyes are another story ofc but I can't say I care that much. After looking at my suit and a new mage I am making, I won't be using any of these items.

The items just make it easier to build a pvp suit, they don't add anything new to the game, and aren't overpowered at all. The weapons are 2 handed(no pots, some are slow so hard to swing while running). The colors well.. everyone will be able to choose what color they like i don't see anything bad in that, neon colors hurt my eyes but if someone likes them i have no problem with that.
I like the do and the tome. Everything else is shit(kasa is nice but there are better hats).

Yeah I'm sure there are other easily obtainable hats with SDI 12% and high resists.
Doesn't add anything new?
It Adds plenty new!
You now have mods in slots that have never been possible before creating whole new massive gaping chasms of imbalance.
See you later UO. Oh wait no I won't because by the time I get the urge to play you again you'll have closed down for being so shit.

Who will you use these items against ? The 7 other people who still play in Felucca ?

Nah you're wrong Nox. The two pieces are hat and chest, and neither are good enough to get in my suit, let alone people with HoM, etc.

I think there'a a free character xfer code for every account with next publish. DF is underpopulated that's no news and with wow it's even less crowded, rarely pvp is more than 1vs1, but on shards like europa or atlantic there's alot more people.
There are other nice hats like Hat of the magi, divine countenance, these are artifacts, would you drop HOM for that kasa ? i don't think so...
Regarding balance, they are nerfing ninjitsu already(well really a bug fix for death strike), bushido is next, i tried other mmrpgs, uo pvp is still the best around. Daoc was one of the best balanced games and still there were a few uber players oneshotting or casting insanely fast with high damage(after 1 year i was doing the same), i'd like to know how WoW is pvp-wise, but i don't expect much for the next 6 months.
Uo just needs a new true 3d client and 3d movement(not 8 directions but 3600), if this is the secret project they are talking about it will get lots of new players, if not.. it will slowly die but it takes several years for a mmrpg to die out(actually only the first ever made mmrpg died, everything else is still alive).

No UO dosen't need 3d:(

No new client = no new people = further dwindling of the existing population.
UO needs a MAJOR overhaul, particularly in the light of just how damned impressive WoW has been. For the first time, I think a game has finally come along that may force a very large percent of the UO userbase not to reactivate/renew their subscriptions.
The only thing that can save UO now is a MAJOR overhaul starting with a new graphics engine.

That MIGHT attract some new people(Why would they choose it over WoW, etc though?) but would certainly lose a ton of current players.
