what PvP player has detect on his template?
Well none I suppose but you're missing the point. Whether you like these ninjas or not, they are team playing. The answer is to fight back as a team.
That means your red crews are going to have to think a bit outside your closed box and include a detector in your ranks.

Incidentally, I don't think detect on it's own will work against a stealthing ninja. I think you need hiding and possibly tracking as well as detect. Least that was what it looked like when I tried it on test.

When the game evolves, your playstyle has to change to.

Eh no weevil I dont think you understand, these ninjas are abusing a bug.

90% of ninjas arent skilled in the slightest, nor the stealthers, they have no sense of timing or anything.

I have a tracking/detect char and its not 100% effective so it isnt an ideal solution. Its just retarded when people like myself are preapred to fight gank squads only to be ninja bugged every time.

sure if the game envolves we need to change but in our case, we are 4-5 -+- max, so we have to use one char only to detect? Just because this ninja shit is kinda "overpowered"? if our guild would be 10+ then ok... just two things that suck so much...this bola throwing as dog and being unrevealable. OSI just should bring back this revealing in warmode thingy as it was before....... i think very much would be solved if the guys wont be 110% safe anymore.

I made a stealth ninja char and used it a few times... its really supereasy armaggeddon lame! Right thing for total nubs...

come on, away with this crap and lets fight "normally" its getting bored just to die because of this .... :evil:

(no i am not pissed really but i realise toooooooooo much of this crappo in fights and i dont like it- like many many others)

they should remove bola in animal form and change reveal back (and p field revealing)

lets see how many fags dare to play ninjas then

only reason im not playing mine much atm is cause its stupidly overpowered

but if i get ninja gimped i normally log onto it just to get revenge (and i can be very very lame)

stealthers (and ninjas) are not a team template. fags. solo, stealth, which none of them would know about

Ninjas alone in a guild isnt a problem... its when load of guilds allies with each other that the problem is
Though doesnt really bother me.. if they need 20 people and ninjas to kill you alone, wouldnt it make you feel proud ?

I doubt any Ninjas can kill anyone 1v1 - their template just does not allow for it.
However, they are annoying as hell when in a group.

Fortunately, I understand that in the next publish they won't be able to throw bolas when in animal form ?
That is a good thing, but it doesn't change the fact that it is near impossible to reveal one of these guys, or to kill them - thanks to overpowered hiding/stealth changes.

Weevil I agree with the basics of what you are saying, people taking templates that aren't neccesarily good 1v1 but are good for the team is an essential part of UO in AOS, we did this for the first time in AOS, coming here with a complement of necro's and archers, whereas before we'd pretty much all played Wrestle mages.

BUT~ Ninja's aren't counterable by any other char, even one with all 7 skills devoted to detecting/tracking/killing them, which is totally useless in fights against non ninjas.

A char with track/detect/necro are needed for killing ninjas, and even then, ninja can RUN away while stealthed, or just auto rehide when revealed.

It's so totally overpowered atm. Bola fix will reduce the amount of them around by quite a lot hopefully.

I don't disagree about them being overpowered. And Villas right, they'll get hit with the big nerf stick in some future publish.
But they are just one template, and as someone said, the template is just too cramped to make a top solo killer.

It just occurs to me that 2 stealthers (ninja or not under the current rules) could easily co ordinate attacks via TS and UOAM.

I'm very interested to know just what the maths is behind the reveal and detect equations. What hiding/detect/stealth do you have on your detectives and what sort success percentages do you think your getting?
I've scoured forums all over the place for this and I can only assume the deafening silence is because those ninja/stealthers are keeping their ridiculous success to themselves to avoid being tartgetted for a play balancing release.

On the other hand they very useful in group atm...If u have them in ur group ur happy ^^ if u don't then it's annoying !

At Gm Track/Detect its about 50% chance and even then they can re-hide and move almost instatnly
